Skye has been shot! Twice! Oh the drama! As per television convention, once Skye made it to the end of the previous episode with a breath in her body, I knew she wouldn’t be leaving us. Though I’m not the kind of person that thinks ‘oh since I know how it ends, it can’t be interesting.’ It’s about the journey! And the friends we make along the way. And boy do we make a couple exciting friends this episode. This episode has everything: Trip! Garrett! But more importantly – Trip! Half a blue alien! Slo-mo explosion jump.
But quick, we have to save Skye. She’s been shot! Twice!

Skye is being taken to a medical SHIELD facility in Zurich, Switzerland. Operation begins. Team is in the waiting room. Fitz blames himself. Ward “blames” himself (even though in the previous ep, he told us he does not). May blames Ian Quinn… you know, the guy who shot Skye twice.
Doctor reports Skye is not good. Shots penetrated the intestines. They have to decide whether or not to keep her on life-support. There’s nothing to be done. YIKES.
May goes to attack Quinn in the honeycomb holding room. Yeah nice work. I support that.
Coulson pulls her out to pilot the plane. He wants to find the doctors who brought him back from the dead………..
Coulson decides to tell the team the truth!
He gives Fitzsimmons his ‘death and recovery report’ even though it’s above their clearance level. Fuck the system.
Skye is back on the Bus. We’re flying to Bethesda where Coulson was ‘treated’.
Ward sits in the cockpit with May and tells her he liked seeing her go after Quinn. Yeah me too.
They get a call from SHIELD telling them they are about to be boarded…
Agent John Garrett boards the plane. He knows Coulson from the old days or whatever. He was given orders to transport Ian Quinn to the Fridge immediately. Garrett has been chasing Quinn as well. Coulson says he won’t be turning Quinn over until they save Skye. Because, if Skye dies…….. Coulson doesn’t say what he’ll do…
Agent Antoine Triplett arrives with Garrett. He replaced Ward as John Garrett’s specialist after Ward joined Coulson’s team. Triplett asks Ward where Quinn is being kept so he can take him. They banter about how cool the plane is. Ward refuses to tell Trip anything without orders from Coulson. The boys fight! Ward starts to get the upper hand until Coulson shuts it down. He and Garrett have made an agreement. Garrett will interrogate Quinn on the plane.
He does this. He grabs Quinn’s tongue and threatens him into answering questions. Garrett knows about the Deathlok program. There’s a fun moment when Garrett holds Coulson back from hitting Quinn, but then Garrett does it himself. Nice. Quinn spills that he was ordered to shoot Skye by the Clairvoyant
Looking over the file, Fitzsimmons is overwhelmed. They try to get help from Doctor Streitan (this is the name of the Shepherd actor’s character… apparently) , but he’s gone off the grid. They find out that Coulson wasn’t actually treated in Bethesda and the rest of the doctors and room numbers in his file don’t exist…
Quinn apparently had a hand in taking out some of Garrett’s agents, but those orders also came from the Clairvoyant. Garrett pieces together that the Clairvoyant wanted Skye to be dying so that Coulson would seek out more answers into his recovery.
Simmons finds mention of a drug called “G.H. 325” but they don’t know where to find it.
Fitz has holographic access to a bunch of SHIELD administrative files from the Triskelion. The hologram fills up the entire cargo hold as Fitzsimmons flips through them. Quite cool-looking. I dig. They find a file marked “Guest House” which includes a giant code. They determine that if they turn the code on it’s side, it’s a map to a mountain range… somewhere. Seems fake but okay.
Team suits up to approach the Guest House even though they have no idea what it is.
Coulson’s the face, Ward and Garrett are muscle, and Fitz is going along for hackings and to help find tech/medicine that Simmons can use to help Skye.
Coulson talks to the speaker at the door, but he doesn’t know the countersign to “how was the drive from Istanbul” so they have to hack their way in.
Garrett makes a joke to Fitz about ‘the horrible death they are walking into’ but Fitz takes it in stride. Growth. Also here is where Garrett says “if the job were easy –“ to which, Ward replies “-it wouldn’t be any fun” (okay right so. Ward says this in the first episode and now we see where he got it from). [1] He will use it again later when Ward tells Garrett he just killed two innocent people. Wild.
Fitz hacks through another door and they are immediately shot at by the only two guards in this place. Garrett kills one and the other is wounded. Poor dudes, they were just SHIELD guys doing their job…
Coulson follows the blood trail of the wounded guy and tries to ask him questions. Guy says there is no one else staffing the place and oh yeah “do you know about the timer?” Turns out the whole place is rigged to blow up. They have ten minutes…
GarrettWard work on finding a way out while PhilFitz looks for a medical miracle.
On the Bus, Triplett and Simmons have a conversation about how close Skimmons is even though they have only worked together for a few months. Trip says he hopes he has Simmons on his side in the future and there is smokin hot sexual tension [2] man. definitely bummed that these two never got together. The chemistry is steaming
Coulson finds the operation room from his newly-restored traumatic memories.
They go into a biohazard containment room and rifle through some vials until they find a single dose of GH325. Fitz runs out to take the juice up to Simmons while Phil stays behind looking for more answers. He goes through a door marked ‘T.A.H.I.T.I.’ We don’t see him go in.
The big boys blow a door down to get out. Coulson is strolling back from his journey into mystery with a stunned expression.
Fitz hands the drug to Simmons. Garrett and Coulson barely make it onto the plane before takeoff and …. Big slo-mo explosion. Fun. Coulson runs into the med pod shouting “no! don’t give it to her!” but it’s too late. The drug has been administered and its working. Skye’s vitals spike for a moment before stabilizing. Coulson walks out looking scared.
Garrett and Trip tell Quinn the good news. Skye will live and the secret site he wanted has been blown to pieces. They take Quinn and depart for the Fridge. Before leaving, Garrett asks if Coulson was really willing to kill Quinn if Skye died. Coulson is like ‘pff I never said that…’
May is like ‘bro you did what you wanted. Why you so shook?’ Phil doesn’t tell her what he saw but says, “seeing where I came from, I was worried she would suffer like I did. But, for whatever reason, she didn’t.”
We get the flashback to what was behind the TAHITI door. A pod marked “Guest House”. The pod has tubes coming out of it to show us this is where the drugs came from. Inside the pod…. Is the upper half of a blue alien corpse! Ah! Freaky.
Logo up. Stinger started
This is a preview to next episode. A hot redhead in a strange dress is wandering the desert. She approaches a newly wedded man and calls this place Midgard so that we know she’s Asgardian. She touches the man’s shoulder and whispers that she needs his help. We see something come over the man, Jimmy, as if she is using some sort of power on him
Jimmy and the woman drive off. She says her name is Lorelai. She’s from the comics too.
